What type of paint would I use to paint concrete planters?
I want a dark shinny blue like a glazed ceramic pot.
You could just use a Concrete Sealer or paint.............Metallic if you want a slight reflection of light..............
I think the taupe color would look lovely. It will still have a natural feel but won,t be the institutional concrete color.
I love your idea and color scheme!!! To enhance the concrete with your metallic paint, there is a technique I think is perfect!
The paint gets watered down a little to make it more of a wash. Then you use a roller and draw huge capital E's all over the wall, Then W's, Then M's, Then 3's (All will rounded corners like the 3's)
It is time consuming but when you are done there will be no hard edges and yet no solid spots of color. A super light dry brushing of your brown (watered down) using the same technique would be awesome!!!
😶Oh my gosh! I think I want to use your idea!
: )
Modern Masters makes a great paint for this.

How about white paint diluted with water. Love your color scheme btw!!!
Too many questions to have answers at the moment lol 1. What color is the wainscoting? 2. What type/color of flooring? 3. How much natural light do you have in the basement and how tall is the ceiling. 4. Cement block or poured cement? (because no paint color will hide the texture of cement block : ) I know , I have it in my basement lol
You could always do a glaze.
I will go with light taupe and left 1 side as an accent to be painted with dark green (the one in the middle on your color scheme), but you may go with light green diluted with water with the same accent. In general light color will make room feels bigger and brighter. My opinion you can go bold with metallic decorations, painted in metallic either bronze or copper and shows some patina will be cool. there are some web showing how to paint and shows some patina. good luck and have fun.
Staining concrete is affordable and super easy! It has been one of my favorite DIY's ever. Concrete reacts with the stain and the results are absolutely magical.
