Slab on top of it Or outside smaller decorative tiles.....
Your question has many ways you can go. If you want to paint it, they have some real nice colors, that you roll on. You can find this @ Homedepot or Lowe's, stop in and look, and I think they have samples which you can take home and decide. They may give you samples of the paint for a nominal fee. Good Luck!

I used a piece of lattice (probably 5ft x 2 ft, whatever size you can move easily) as a stencil and sprayed rustoleum bronze color. I moved it accordingly as you use a stencil. Looks like brick! Then just put a cement sealer on top.
It was easy and looks awesome.
Check out tintcrete.com. It will cover any cracks and pitting you may have also. I did our driveway myself. Hardest part was getting rented pressure washer in and out of car LOL
We tiled right on top of the cement pad, following the original footprint. it's holding up and still looking beautiful 15 years later.
you could build a deck on top of it
We built a low deck on top of ours, giving our old deck a dual level. We also used Granite Grip from Home Depot to paint the small front porch and steps. We like that so well, we might also paint the walk to where it joins the driveway. That wasn't completely easy, but wasn't hard, either. The concrete needs to be pressure washed and etched with muriatic acid first, and you need to be careful using the acid. But the porch looks brand new and much prettier than plain concrete.
use pallets to build a boardwalk over it
