Here is mine,in a tiny kitchen in a small home. I keep everyday herbs and spices, panko, breadcrumbs, etc. In here. Oils, vinegars on a shelf in what is considered a pantry. And baking related items in baskets also on an upper shelf in the so called pantry.
I put an over the door rack on the back of my pantry door. Great for spices and vinegars, etc.
I have the same problem. I ended up finding shelves that were a couple inched deep and screwing them into the wall near where my range is. My house is old, and my kitchen is set up sort of weird. When I am standing at the stove I am about 4 steps to the left away from my pantry. on the right side of the pantry is the doorway to my laundry/mud room. The wall space on the side of the pantry was just exactly enough to put those shelves, so 4 steps to the left and I have a large amount of herbs and spices that I can look at and see the labels. It took me years to figure out to do that, and I am so glad I did!
How about tiered Lazy Susans? Tiered turntables will allow you to add levels, and make it possible to rotate your spices from the back to the front so you don't have to remove everything to find something currently at the back of the shelf. Here's an example: http://a.co/iPqXj0Q
I put my most frequently used spices and rubs in narrow baskets on top of the control top of my stove. I got them at Bed Bath and Beyond, not too expensive. It took some of the bottles out of the cupboard. I also keep my oils in the cupboard above the stove and haven't had a problem with too much heat up their yet. All this allowed me to be able to keep syrups, honey, etc. in the spice cupboard within easy reach.
over the door shelve on my pantry door. Great for spices, vinegars, etc. got at Walmart approx $15. Good space saver and organizer
