You can remove it, and fill the holes, or replace it with one decorative curtain panel for colour.
Are you interested in removing the curtain rod? Or trying to keep it in place and re-purpose it? I'd think hanging plants or even a tiered wire basket to hold bath supplies would add some function to the bath area.Or maybe even a small rack/bar like a scarf organizer to hold towels or smaller washcloths within arms' reach? Would you like to use it to hold a curtain valance to keep a color/pattern/theme going in your bathroom?Does this answer your question - I wasn't sure what you're asking..?
