Break the expanse up into little groupings of furniture (vignettes). For example, place 2 chairs facing each other on a small rug as a conversation area. Next, place a console or sofa table with a lamp and some books in another area. Small groups of furniture that look like they have a specific purpose that are scattered around automatically break up the space and give purpose to each area.
This site will give you tons of ideas. I hope it helps. When you are done please share!!

The question is a tricky one to fiqure out.If You have a long driveway, have You consider lining crepe mrytles on both(or one) sides of it?The ones that grow tall. And maybe a few on the opposite side & a few on the front property line? The blooms are beautiful.
If you plant Crepe Mrytles do not repeat...do not ever whack away at the top of it as is will never look its best. Momma Nature will give you a great looking tree if you leave it alone.
