I found a product at Homey Depot that was MAGIC! It totally removed the odor without damaging the fabric. Odo-Ban works an kills the bacteria, etc. not just some "perfume". You must thoroughly soak the area so it remains wet for at least 10 minutes and it may need several treatments.
If this doesn't work, you may need to sand or even replace the wood.
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...

I would also recommend you get the ultraviolet pet flashlight as urine floreses so you can see where they've gone on the floor or sprayed on wall. Wipe with baking soda first. Then clean area with the orange cleaner. Cats hate the smell and your kitchen will smell like oranges
