Take a sponge soaked in water and microwave for a minute or two to create a steam or can take coffee cup filled with water and do the same. Be careful removing as it will be hot. The spatters should wipe up with more ease now.
Put the plate in your dishwasher and use window cleaner like windex to clean it with a soft rag. Keep it up daily and it helps much to ease the pain of cleaning it. Put lids on food or paper towel over the top of the food to catch future splatters. Hope this helps!
Place a couple cups of water in there. Heat to boiling point. Then let sit 5 minutes or so. That will loosen all the gunk and you can just wipe it up.

How to Steam Clean the Microwave
Wipe any residue off, first with a sponge or microfiber cloth. Then, put a glass measuring cup filled with water and about a teaspoon of lemon juice. Heat on high for 5 minutes. Let it sit. Then, while it is still steamy inside, wipe food and debris with a Mr. Clean sponge and/or a microfiber cloth. If any remains, wipe it down again with vinegar, heat with a cup of water, again for 5 minutes. You should have all of the food off at this point. If you still feel there is something on the surface, go over gently with a scrubby sponge.
Put a cup of water in the microwave on high for 4 minutes. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Open the door remove the cup, plate dish and the spindle, and wipe with a soapy rag, then dry with paper towels. Finish done.
