put in some straw. I would like to put up a loft and aprox. 20 " shelves around the perimeter with 10 - 12" sides to hold straw. My question - does anyone know of any prefab material that I could use for the shelves because I don't think I can build them myself. They could be made of anything.

  • Any big box home improvement store will have inexpensive pre cut shelves in different lengths. Buy what you need and get decent but inexpensive brackets to mount and use screws to install.

if its waterproof, just stack cardboard boxes....leave one side open because cats love to 'nest' in boxes

you can use premad shelving from big box home improvement stores but I would probably put some sort of weather proofing product on them so that they don’t warp or you could use wood from a big box store like Home Depot. They will cut it to size for you.

Pallets. They are seasoned wood, easy to cut, and free or close to free. Hope that helps.

That said, thanks for being a wonderful example of pet lovers and those who go beyond.

Yes, what a wonderful thing you are doing. I was wondering if old book shelves would work? You can find them in sizes from very small to about 7' tall. My cat loves to sleep on a book shelf in our den.
