Scoot them on to a piece of wax paper. Put a clear jar or glass over them and see what hatches. Be sure to let us know.
i am not familiar w/Californi, but you could tamke the "eggs" to your cooperative extension office. They should be able to ID them, then give you info on what to do next. OR you can be your own scientist and put a jar or container over them, trying to keep all variables the same (humidity, temp, light, etc.) & watch what hatches. (Was a homeschool Mom)
Can you find any holes anywhere they may have fallen from?
Im pretty sure these are stink bug eggs.
try termite leavings
I would call in a termite company for an inspection. I would also check around the house for other signs. If you don't have a "slab" foundation, I would check under the house.
Keep an eye on this site incase more holes arrive, could be woodworm! or maybe termite???
