If it's not due to moisture, just a poor application, it should be an easy repair. I personally hate working on sheetrock overhead, but, it can be done. If it has loosened due to moisture, take care of that problem first.
Sounds like a water leak . Doesn't normally become loose without moisture. As above, yes you can fix it, but fix the moisture problem first or you will have compounding problems.
