under the bed storage is a great place to start.

Yes, under the bed storage is great. My bed is really high, and plastic containers were easily seen when entering the bedroom. UGLY! So when I saw a broken down chest of drawers waiting at the side of the road to go to the dump, I rescued the drawers, painted them to match my bed, added caster wheels on the 4 corners and now I have beautiful, rolling, under bed storage.

raise your bed a bit. there are 6 inch high bed raisers available from big box diy stores. or raise your bed a lot..it wasn't that hard to make a 2x4 box frame for a higher foot and head board. semi lofted is how i would describe it. used a sheet and a half of paneling..nailed in to the back of the ceiling hi 2x4 head board frame. added a shorter box style frame for the foot board, again 2x4 with paneling. used bolts to hold the mattress rails.

What other furniture do you have in your bedroom? Side tables are a great way to add storage to a small bedroom. Or if you can, add some tall floor to ceiling storage cabinets beside the bed instead of tables to act like closets. Good luck.

WE purchased plastic tubs that have rollers on them that are long, wide, and shallow to slide under the bed. One keeps clothes, the other our shoes, and winter sweaters in the third one. WE bought them at Target or Walmart. Hope this helps

Shallow storage bins (some w/rollers) could store items under the bed. You could also add some high shelving (above the doors) and use decorative baskets with items not often used. Choose any furniture with storage in mind, perhaps an ottoman at the end of the bed. Shoe storage can be narrow shelves that hinge so the shoes don't show....available at Ikea. Often storage can be found in a vanity area in an adjacent bathroom.

Hi Sherise: Go vertical! You can get those shoe bags and hang them on the back of your closet diir or make some shelves and put them on the shelf that's in your closet and put your shoes on them. Also, get a metal chain with links that are at least a 1/2 inch long, put the first link over the crook of a hanger, then about 2 or 3 links down, another hanger and so on, and hang your clothes on these hangers that go vertically. You can hang several items in a small area this way.

Use under-bed storage containers or drawers to store items like clothing, shoes, or extra bedding. Install floating shelves or wall-mounted shelves to utilize vertical space for displaying or storing items. Use storage ottomans or benches with hidden compartments for storing items and providing seating

  • We bought one daughter a bed with drawers built into the platform and another daughter a bed with baskets that roll out from under the bed. Both look amazing and store all their clothes.
