You may need it snaked. Only the pros have them long enough to go all the way down. We happen to have a friend who works for Roto rooter and he did this for us at a huge discount after hours. He went all the way down, almost to the outside sewer pipe before it was clear. Snakes are expensive, the longer ones are ridiculous in price, so it is worth getting a pro to come in and do it. Call a couple of places and get a guesstimate and check the reviews on the companies before you commit to one.

I agree! A plumber can do this. I have done it myself but it involves getting up on the roof and rodding the vent pipe. Depending on the problem it may not even be the vent pipe.
What makes you think it is the vent pipe ? If the bathroom sink drains O.K. It's not the vent, but the toilet itself...
Check the vents above. You may have something blocking them which would keep water from refilling the toilet. Try adding water to the toilet that's an issue and flush - is it refilling properly?
