I love all things nautical. Here's an easy peasy towel holder that you can make which will cost you significantly less than if you purchased it from the store. You could use it in your bathroom, mudroom, child's room...
We had leftover lumber from our dock build at the cottage. I love the idea of bringing the cottage home! All I needed was one little board.
I bought some of these galvanized dock cleats at my local Home Depot. They come in various sizes and price ranges. This model costs $4.75 each in Canadian dollars - I'm sure that's even less for our American Hometalkers.
I had my husband router the edges of the pressure treated lumber piece. I painted it with Americana Bahama Blue acrylic paint. I didn't seal it with an all weather protector because I like the distressed look. After a couple of seasons outdoors, it should achieve that look. If you're not into the distressed look, then you would definitely need to seal the surface.
Once the paint was dry, my husband did all the Math and the measuring to ensure that everything was properly centered. Drill and you're done! Pallet wood or reclaimed could also be used and look stunning.
I like how the Bahama blue matches our bistro set. Hope you get inspired to try something nautical too!
This is the Krylon color I used for my bistro chairs. Now, just hope for a short Winter so we can enjoy them again!
