Same as anyone with allergies. If it affects your pet try different scents. Maybe scent pot melts?
I just recently started using candles in my office because I like the scent. If you hadn't asked this question and I hadn't found it and looked up the answer I would have continued using candles in my office. After reading this article I'm going back to my essential oils and diffuser. Here's the article. Wishing you the best.

Everything you breathe in, eventually has to be detoxified by the liver. That is why people are using the essential oil infusers. But even then you must check each essential oil as some are dangerous for some pets. Cats and dogs are different.
With proper ventilation, not at all. I burn candles all the time on my mantle and have 6 cats, 6 dogs, a canary and a dragon.
I use wax melts and a candle warmer after finding out how much soot candles put out.
Or purchase unscented candles, I know a couple people with severe allergies that can't tolerate any scent whatsoever, but unscented candles work great.
Candles are made from different things; the healthiest for frequent burning are soy it bees wax based.
Most other use petroleum, that goes though the air and is not too healthy. If you burn lots of candles it may be a concern for your animal family.
