We have a beach theme bathroom. I had pictures of the kids at the beach so I mixed some of the beach sand with glue and painted it on frames to make the frames look like sand. Let it dry then put in the beach photos. They came out great! I have had them for over 20 years now. Wow do I feel old now. I have sand castle sculptures sitting around also. Put some sand in a clear glass container, add a candle and some shells. I also have beach towels hanging on pegs. Oh and from the ceiling I have a kite hanging :)
I love a beach-themed room! And if you have or buy lighthouse prints, then you can lean more toward nautical materials, unless you like big starfish and beach towels. Either canvas or durable kettle cloth are excellent for chair seats and sofa covers. Beach towels make some really cute no-sew covers for decorative pillows. I just saw a suggestion to use jute throw rugs. (I laughed because jute was a carpet backing in the 70s.) Bamboo area rugs are very popular, and are available in many designs and colors. About any bright rugs can be wall hangings. One thing I love about beachy Decor is that you can spend as little or as much as you choose. Rattan, bamboo, sailcloth, DIY ship’s wheel and anchor, plastic starfish and Hawaiian shirts and leis are all so inexpensive. Best wishes, and don’t forget to take photos so you can Post on Hometalk.com! 😇
Hi Anna, Beach decor always uses shades of blue and light weight sheer curtains (usually white). Then accessorize with art and throw pillows containing star fish, sea shells, sand and sun. Now I feel like a trip to the beach!

Any beach theme here usually includes some driftwood item be it chimes, carvings, a wall hanging from a piece, etc.
Shells are definitely a part of it, and I have done many a shell mirror for friends over the years. And also done huge glass globes filled with them.
Here glass blowing is popular and we have floats left on the beach each year by the blowers in the dunes for you to find..... once in a great while you find an old Japanese fishing boat float that is blue green.... https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://i.pinimg.com/736x/23/2d/81/232d816ed3fedfb02bf6465bed29724f--glass-beach-sea-glass.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.pinterest.com/dianet/glass-floats/&h=521&w=736&tbnid=dITKPPss4d6lSM:&tbnh=160&tbnw=226&usg=__aK85g5hSSIk4cp_PxhdtecbwfLs%3D&vet=10ahUKEwjQ2e7_lp3YAhVPymMKHSzrBp8Q9QEIQzAA..i&docid=Kohgv5kSq-V5wM&client=opera&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjQ2e7_lp3YAhVPymMKHSzrBp8Q9QEIQzAA
