I would put in a rock garden. These link will help if that interests you.

Bromiliads are wonderful. They love the shade. There roots are shallow and they love trees. They are prolific in the ground and in pots .
You might need to mend the soil by tilling and adding some sand to help it drain better. There are flowers that do well in moist areas if you want to put a semi circular flower bed there. Hostas do well in the shade and they do not mind the moisture. I would plant them and add some decorative stone around them after tilling the area. I would make it round or oval enough for a mower to easily go around it, cover the ground around the new plants with shredded paper (it is better to keep weeds down than weed paper!), and then mulch a little to cover papers. Let us know and share a photo when you do decide and make a beautiful spot there!
Thank you we’ll give it a shot when the weather warms up
