When I groom a dog for a client, I use a shower bench in the tub and sit on it and bath the door. When I was a professional dog handler, we had a raised tub with a hose attachment, and there was a counter level with the tub to dry them off. For grooming we used a table with an adjustable arm that had an adjustable neck noose to hold the dog in a standing position. At home I use a chair outside, and the dog stands or lays on the pea gravel while I brush and put the hair in bag.

Since you are looking at something that will experience a lot of water, I would think that a wash station commercially built for the purpose would be better than trying to hammer something together with lumber. For me, I only build when no one makes the product that suits my vision or the space available.
ophs.... bath the dog
We bought a plastic dog bathtub on clearance, then my husband built a stand for it out of the resin wood they make for decks. He put wheels on it, so when not using it wheels out of the way against a wall. When we use it, we attach a hose to the drain spigot and run it to the drain. We also have a hose we attach to the wall spigot that gives us a bathing hose. A regular shower sprayer makes a perfect way to bath our scotties with ease. We bought our tub from Petedge.com on clearance for around $50. The resin decking cost around $25 and the wheels around $10. We used extra hose we had from our camper and an simple shower head was less than $15. All together we spent less than $100 dollars. When not in use, all our bathing supplies store either in the tub or on a shelf my husband built under the tub rack. He also built a beautiful wood table that sits over top of a dog crate, and serves as an extra table when not in use. It has a grooming attachment that can easily be removed from the table, and a removable round wood table that turns that sets on top of it to use when grooming. Just a thought, we use this set up, minus the grooming attachment at christmas to hold a spiral christmas tree displaying our smaller blown glass ornaments and surrounded by minature houses. So the table ends up with many uses, and hides the crate all right in our living room.
For a fast easy fix get a shower head with a detachable sprayer. When you are in the tub use the detachable shower head you won’t believe what a difference it makes. Good luck JR
