Falling in love with your old ottoman is just one fabric step away!
With your choice of fabric, fringe, stapler, scissors, and a glue gun you can turn this dated ottoman into your very own personalized show piece, and the best thing about it is-- it will be one of a kind.
Okay so I have already spread the fabric over the ottoman and I made sure it was just enough fabric on each side so that I can mount it to the ottoman with the staple gun.

At the bottom of the ottoman is where you will find a wooden beam which that is what you need to make sure the stapler gun is touching. This will give it a permanent hold and you will need to do this on both sides.

It is always good to have a friend to hold one side of the fabric so it won't move because you will need to pull the fabric tightly for a smooth wrinkle free look. But if you do not have a friend. Staple on one side in two locations to secure it, then return to the other side and begin to tighten and apply staples all the way across and then return to the other side and repeat process.
Corners can be tricky so it is very important that you fold corners inward as if you were making a bed hospital style. Here I pushed corners in leaving fabric flap on top. I stapled inside the corners then I smooth down the flap over it, and stapled it down to the corners nice and tightly. Don't worry for this and most ottomans this style there is a wooden beam along the corners. It is very important to make sure you are pressing stapler gun against the wood or it will not have anything to secure to.
Using a hot glue gun, I applied the fringe along the bottom. This can also be hand stitched with needle and thread. But if you are impatient like me, the hot glue gun worked perfectly. Here in this picture I started from one corner and kept going until I covered all sides and met back up with the last corner.
Now I have a beautiful brand new ottoman, which I can entertain on as well as kick my feet up and get comfy. I do have a full step by step tutorial on this project. you can click this link below. Thanks for watching and I hope I have encourage you to upscale your ottoman to fit your current style.
