Is Creeping Charlie in your lawn a good thing or a bad thing?
Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
I am looking for the same cure. I thought it would stop when she became a three legged dog, but it didn't. Her front paws are like little dog shovels and she is able to balance on the one back leg. We have no real idea what it is that she digs for.
Fill the hole up with her poop, this will take several times of doing this .It works
She could be bored. give it Toys or a friend ,,,,,,,,,,
Sounds like the dog is bored. Just like a small child if they don't have something to entertain them they can get into trouble. Does the pup have plenty of toys?
Take an empty milk jug and thread her collar thru the handle. She won't be able to lift her legs to dig. You can also add a few stones for weight.
Cruel to try to stop a "digger"! Instead, give the dog an approved digging location - a sandbox!!! To train her to use that area for digging, put favorite toys and treats in the sand and stay with her, praising her when she finds them.
It does no use trying to 'break' a dog of an inborn trait. These used to be for useful dog jobs. Much better to allow her to follow her nature and in a place where you don't get annoyed.
I wholeheartedly agree with Robin. That is beyond cruel and borders on abuse. It is a dogs instinct to dig. Chances are it is bored and not properly exercised. I have 6 dogs and not one of them digs. Dogs want nothing but unconditional love and to please you. That requires time, a boatload of patience and training, lots and lots of training. Check out these links for proper handling. Consistency is key to success, everyone in the house needs to be on board.
