Grass seeds+weeds

How did you apply the grass seed?

Just let the weeds grow to a reasonable size then pull them out.otherwise don't worry, if you mow the new lawn often enough the weeds will get cut off before they seed again...........

Pull the weeds, carefully so that the grass isn't pulled with the weeds. You have to wait to fertilize until the grass is established, so I am not sure if you can put anything else down. Check with someone at a home improvement store and pick their brains to see if there is anything safe to use with new grass.

Use some weed and feed for your grass. The weed seeds were already there or blew in; they just started at the same time as the grass. You know, weeds are just plants we haven't found a use for yet. Maybe yours will have a purpose...

so you did not apply top soil, lime or starter fertilizer?

For grass seed to properly germinate the following steps are necessary....apply a few inches of top soil, lime,grass seed for you particular location, starter fertilizer ,top with peat moss, keeping moist until germinated
