New Look for Small Armoire
I was asked by a store to give this little cutie an update. It had already been painted a light color but when you opened it, there was no back.
UPDATE: THIS PROJECT WAS DONE SOME TIME AGO. I PURCHASED ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT AND WAX ONLINE FROM THE PURPLE PAINTED LADY (YOU CAN FIND THE STOCKIST CLOSEST TO YOU BY GOING ON THE ANNIE SLOAN WEBSITE) THE STENCIL WAS FROM MICHAELS ALTHOUGH I DON'T SEE IT LISTED ANYMORE. I'VE SENT NOTIFICATIONS TO HOMETALK TO UPDATE THE LINKS THE POSTED BELOW.
This is how it looked when I started. Pretty much a blank canvas...
I decided to give it a sweet shabby chic look. A coat of gray paint and some gorgeous stenciling! I knew with a little work is could be a real show-stopper.
So it was painted Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Paris Gray and then stenciled with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White. I used Annie Sloan clear wax to seal the whole piece afterward. I already had a can of the old white leftover from a previous project.
A neighbor cut the back for me (we put 2 holes through it in case it would be used for a tv cabinet in the future). I then stenciled the back also so that there would be a nice little surprise to greet whoever opened the door.
Here's an inside pic with the stenciled wood back attached.
Stenciled cabinet for your bundle of royalty!
Finished product. I see this in a sweet nursery.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Nice work. What did you use for the back?
How good does Ann Sloan chalk paint hold on wood items in a bathroom with the humidity??? I would like to paint my vanity, cabinet behind my toilet on the wall and all the trim in my bathroom. But my husband keeps telling me that it will all peel off..
Annie Sloan Chalk paint? Pictured is Rust-oleum Chalk paint.
Which did you actually use?
