Is it attached to the bottom?
Remove it? Or I would turn it into a succulent terrarium.

make a terrarium or fairy garden?
You could turn it into a min green house with a slotted lid to let the excess moisture out.
Are you planning on using the aquarium for fish again? Do you want to get rid of it, or are you planning to repurpose it? If you are planning on using it for fish or repurposing it, the first thing I would do is paint the base cabinet to a color that would go with your décor or make it blend in more. You could make it into a terrarium, I did that with a cage for lizards, and it turned out great! With an aquarium that size you could put in larger and taller specimens. You could donate the aquarium to a local school that may want it and turn the base into a storage/plant stand, I have done that also. We have many aquariums in our house, from 5 to 150 gallon, the empty ones go into a storage shed and we reuse the base. Normally they don't have a cover on top, so we cut plywood to fit and stain or paint to go with the base. There are many things you could do with the base. They are sturdy and can obviously hold a lot of weight, so they can be used for so many things, even in the garage. A lot of them are pressed wood, so I don't know if I would use them outside, but if yours is real wood, you could even use it outside as a potting bench after using a number of marine polyurethane on every inch of it, even the bottom. Add a hutch type frame to the top and it would be perfect!
Since you are not using it for fish... take it out and replace it with a nice sideboard
Since my husband is a sculptor I would remove the aquarium, fill the top of the cabinet with sculpted pieces and replace the aquarium upside down. Since I am a collector of china, I could also make an arrangement of beautiful pieces and then put the aquarium upside down on them. It would make a perfect display cabinet!
I would list it on craigslist as free, and someone will come and remove it.
You could probably sell it or fill it with some rocks around the edges, put some dirt in and grow some succulents.
Make an herb garden
It would make a beautiful, large terrarium.
