Give those plastic Easter Eggs all new life and create this speckled Easter egg wreath for under $10
First thing that needs to happen is to change the color of the eggs. I used three types of spray paint for this project and some dark wax to speckle them. You can use brown acrylic paint as well.
I opened each individual egg and laid it flat on my painting card board. I painted in sections. Once dried I mix dark wax from Folkart in with a little water. Once I had the consistency I wanted I flicked the mixture onto the eggs with a paint-brash.
I used a grapevine wreath for my foundation
I bought this bunny head pick at Hobby Lobby to use in the center. You can add a bow or any other item if you would like or nothing at all. I centered the bunny first, then started to glue the eggs one by one.
I glued the eggs largest to smallest with my hot glue gun. I repeated the pattern all the way around.
Once finished I added reindeer moss in any gaps.
Continue until all gaps are filled and you have achieved the look you wanted.
Once finished hang and style your wreath
Now, you have a Speckled Easter Egg wreath made from dollar tree supplies!!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Where did you find the speckled eggs? Or did you make them?
The materials chart did not show what type of spray paint you used to give them a chalk paint look. Can you please list it?
What a great idea! Now I know what to do with all those Easter eggs, when my daughter is too old to believe 🐰
