Natural biodegradable soap is one of the most potent homemade insect sprays around and becomes even more so with the addition of essential oils like peppermint and citronella. But be careful, it can harm pets. Silverfish are difficult to get rid of. Cinnamon sticks and citrus peels are a great way to get rid of them.
It may sound odd but put catnip in the corners of every drawer and cabinet in the kitchen even in the bathroom, closets, etc. You won't see them again.

Thank you. That is a very good article and will help tremendously.
Word of caution if you have pets. Not all essential oils are the same. Many are cheap knock offs and can do more harm than good. Know your source. Most of the vets in my area have info on their websites due to improper use and making pets deathly ill. And if you have pets you know vet bills can quickly escalate. Check out these sites if you have pets.

Most of these articles address cats and dogs, but can be extremely harmful to birds and reptiles too. So if unsure, check with your vet first.
