We made a simple arched picket fence headboard for our little girl when she turned three. It was really simple. I layed out a large sheet of paper, measured the distance between the frame ends where the screws would attatch it....made my marks, The I found the center of that measurement and with a pencil tied toa string I made an arch, I tried several times to get it just the way i wanted it....the rest was easy,,,,,just making sure how high we wanted it and then two 1 x 4s across the back to secure them all together.
You can have gaps or not....its entirely up to you/ Get crazy!

Add a pair of sheers to the headboard. You can make a drape, a canopy, a mosquito net, or a princess pouf, just by stapling the sheets to the ceiling and walls. Easy removal, too! ☺️
I saw an excellent idea on a hometalk page where a lady used a hula hoop to create a pretty canopy over her little girls bed and hung the hula hoop from the ceiling with a hook by tying 3 cords to the hoop for hanging. She cut the hoop so that she could thread the curtain, Drop cloth, sheet or shower curtain over it and then put a piece of dowel inserted into the hoop ends to reconnect them. This allows you to take them down and wash or change them as desired.
