Don't know if you mean more tomatoes or larger tomatoes. For larger tomatoes, you don't actually prune the plant; you just pinch off some of the flowers. For example if one stem has 5 blossoms, pinch off 2 or 3 - that way the growth will be concentrated in the remaining flowers. If you have several varieties of a particular tomato, ass a test on one only, you can try keeping it low by cutting it in 1/2 but I'm not sure if that will work as you may be cutting off the flowers which make the tomatoes. Good luck.

Pruning is not generally applied to tomato plants. However, as you see suckers growing you can pick them off, soak them in water to root, and grow another tomato plant. A sucker is the new growth that comes between the stem of the plant and a branch. Even if you don't save them, they should be pinched off for better harvest of fruit. Feed your tomatoes coffee grounds and even put some egg shells in the hole before planting them but never never grass clippings. Tomatoes do not like to be mulched with grass clippings (the nitrogen in the grass not good for them). Hope this helps. Here is a photo of a sucker in case you need it.
