Im intrigued by the space-saving shelf over the door idea.
Put shelves on any blank space is you need the storage. Make the shelves a little wider and deeper to add more storage and display. If you use L brackets, paint them to match or contrast the walls; don’t leave them raw. Over the toilet, be sure to leave space to lift the tank lid and make repairs. Make your shelves go as high as possible to store things rarely used. Use plastic see-through or labeled boxes to store items that you don’t want to advertise. If there is room for even a short shelf under the sink, you can store water bottles or plastic gloves there. Inside the doors, you can use hooks and clips to store shower caps, water bottles, and rubber gloves. And if you can, build crown molding or fake crown molding around the upper edge of the walls to complete everything. Very best wishes ☺️
They have ready made shelves and decorative brackets at Menards and Home Depot. Lots of options and sizes.
if you use a wood shelf, seal it with stain & varnish or other coating. It may warp or cup in a humid environment if it’s left “ natural”
Have to admit I am intrigued as well by the shelf over the door, very creative and resourceful!
At 5'4" it would be a challenge for me to reach anything up there, defeating the purpose of having it in the first place.
