I really should remove it and replace it with a regular kitchen cabinet, but while I'm procrastinating, I am using mine as a supersize dish drainer, which at least keeps my counters free. I do wipe down the door (where the drips are) before closing it, since I'm not sure I should leave the water to evaporate on its own. I also put an old dish towel in the bottom of the dishwasher for the same reason. I probably don't have to, since dishwashers are meant to get wet.
Storage? Or remove it and make or purchase a rolling cart to put in its place. Or install pull out drawers.
I've torn them out in my last 3 homes. This home I put in an extra cabinet. The other two, I put in a bookcase for my large cookbook collection. If the dishwasher is still good, donate it to Habitat for Humanity Restore.
Funny you should ask, Until recently I have always used mine to store pots, pans, plastic bags, seasonal paper plates and cups, plastic utensils for guest, anything that would fit. But after hand washing for 50 years, I’ve actually started using it all the time and I love it!
storage of pots pans serving platters cookie sheets..the ones you don’t use al thet often. I’ve also used it as a dish drying rack....there are some items I don’t put in the dishwasher to wash.
Store clean dishes or pots and pans in it. You could also consider storing Holiday/Special/Formal dishware in it that you don't use on a regular basis.
It makes a great dish drainer
Store additional dinner and silverware, etc. when not is use.
