How do I get my hydrangea to bloom this summer?

The hydrangea is about 9 years old and is not very big. It is about 2.5 feet tall and small. I moved 4.5 years ago and transplanted it to my new home. It has not really done well since then. Help!

You can buy soil test kit to analyze for optimum conditions. I prefer pots as it is more easily controlled.
Sounds like you are trimming it back. The blooms and blossoms grow on the old growth. I let mine die back and do a light trim late winter. They come back a bit taller, leafier and with bigger blooms. Good luck!
You must trim before the first frost. After frost you lose next seasons blooms, also a Kate winter freeze after some warm days can cause a loss of bloom
