This is the coolest idea to make for an easy, spring carrier for plants, or, making a new fairy garden with DollarTree items. Basic idea has one trellis, one square locker container and four candlesticks, or, jenga blocks to make legs. 100% dollartree items. Affordable. First idea: Vintage Chair:
I painted the pieces. Used left over spray paints to empty the cans. I waste nothing. I used red, white, black, and achieved a old vintage inspired look. Allowed to dry overnight.
The next day, I laid the container on its side and glued along the trellis. I used e6000 first, then hot glued. I repeated the hotglue. Then, I added weight. Allowed to set for two hours.
Next, I tore up a napkin, added mod podge glue to the side of the container, then, placed the torn pieces, mod podge over it. Allowed to dry-one hour.
The final step, place the container with trellis upside down and along a tall table so you can now work on the legs. Using four candle sticks that was painted yesterday, use E6000 and beads of hotglue. Press firmly on the bottom. Add a heavy book or some type of weight while in the upside down position. I would allow this to set up an entire day or over night.
The next project, I painted the container with a brush of metallic gold paint. I grab a box of jenga blocks, hotglued them into four legs. I flipped the container upside down, and glued the jenga blocks. Allow to sit for two hours. Then, I place the container right side up, and glued the trellis the same way as the vintage chair. As you can see in this photo, I used a shell inside the vintage chair once I flipped it right side up. It is still drying. The jenga blocks dry in a short time. Glass to plastic takes a long time. :)
They are now both ready for decorations. Cheap, unique plant holder, or carrier, or use to store toilet paper! I will make a fairy garden with the gold/green chair. Here is the design....
I used poster board, cut a square to fit snug into the top of the container (I can later on, remove the fairy garden) and glued Dollartree white stones, blue gravel and used their fairy garden kit I purchased on their website for $15. Fab-tastic!!! Thanks for reading, and I have a video tutorial as well. One more idea: if planting real flowers, drill the container with holes on the bottom first thing, before even painting it and assembling the treis and egs. Add gravel to the bottom, then add dirt. This could be used outdoors in warm weather and DRY location, but mostly for indoor use.
Bless!!
