Research online, there are so many around, it all depends on what style, motorized or not, etc. Check places like Craig's list, etc. there may be some used ones for sale that are in really good condition that will be a lot cheaper.
occasionaly they show up at second hand shops. You will want a folding model that can go in the trunk of a car. If your md can prescribe one, there’s a chance of getting one a bit newer, at a lower cost. If your insurance will allow durable medical equipment.

I had a hard time with my mom with medications as she had several illnesses, she was diabetic and had Parkinson's, among other things, but they sent us a free wheelchair . . .
Our Senior Center has a lending closet for items like that. They can be checked out and used indefinitely. All items have been donated and there is a range of things from long handled grabbers to elevated toilet seats to walkers and canes, to name a few. Great service!
I bought a used one out of the classifieds that was VERY nice for my Dad. It was $40, but new ones can be very pricey. Just depends on what you want to spend.
