My kitchen cabinets are embarrassingly greasy. Please share your degreasing tips with me so I don't have to cringe every time I glance at my cabinets.
I take mine off the window, scrub them with a soft bristle brush and soapy water. Rinse them with your hose, and let them dry.

Take down in order so they go back to the correct window. Lay on grass or driveway, hose down to get most of the surface dirt off. Use a bucket and a car wash sponge. Fill bucket with water and a couple squires of dawn dish liquid. Old screens can get fragile, so "blot" rather than scrub gently. Hose off, lean on fence in sun, when dry, replace.
Or call a service, even a good one is not expensive as you might think. They do interior, exterior, screens and window sills, trim for less than you may think. I have it done spring and fall. Frees up your time to work on other cleaning projects!
Hi Nancy. I take mine off and then hose them down outside. I use a small bucket of dish soap and water and gentle sponge the screens off. Then rinse and let them dry.
WE always took off our screens in their frames and sprayed them good with the hose, scrubbed where needed with soap and brush, rinsed and replaced them to air dry.
When we lived in an apartment and the bathtub had ceramic tiles, I would put a large towel on the bottom of the tub——-no scratching the tub bottom...........then I would lean a window screen against the tiled wall and use a sponge on them, drain the tub, wait for screens to dry and put them back on. The towel went in the washing machine.
Outside - scrub with a brush, with your favorite cleaner in a bucket (Mr. Clean / Top Job) . Rinse with the hose. Let dry in the sun.
