A minor but effective help is getting a pack of risers for your bed. That will allow you to fit either plastic or wooden under bed units and access with ease. I suggest marking the end of the box with a tag as to what’s inside. You might want to tack a pull handle on the end for ease of pulling out; a ribbon will do.
Think up - bookcases are a great use of space, even in the kitchen.
I don’t know how close Centennial is, but I’d absolutely road trip with friends to see great design ideas at IKEA. They specialize in small-space planning and fair cost. You’ll probably want to take the biggest car, because nobody leaves empty-handed.
To really do design right, take measurements in all the rooms, including window heights and sizes. I know it’s a bother, but no matter where you shop, and for what, you’ll know if it will fit on the first visit. What length curtain to buy or what width window shade. If you’re buying a sofa, you need to know if you can get it thru the front door even if you unscrew the legs. Older houses are very iffy.
Take photos of the apartment, especially if it’s painted anything but beige. You think you’ll remember the details, but you won’t, particularly if it’s something you fall in love with.
Have fun
