My daughter saved a fortune by using artificial flowers. Couldn't tell the difference. Also used them on the bridal party table for decorations. Afterward; everyone got to keep them and they can be used around the house.
As Gjm says... artificial flowers are a good choice for Bridal and Brides maids bouquets.... one great advantage... they can be made months in advance... no struggle to find the right flowers in the right colors literally at the last minute ... real flowers are subject to availability, weather and other problems beyond human control. AND... by watching for sales.. online or in the store... you can find the artificial flowers on sale as much as 30-60 percent off (Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Joann's, etc). I did my niece's bouquets 6 months ahead and stored them in an empty dresser drawer. Make table bouquets ahead... just leave the out of the vase or container until just before the event.
One of the new trends is for succulents used as bridal bouquets.... I have found some really great looking ones on Ebay... and quite inexpensive... lots of varieties.
Calla Lilies have always been a favorite. Use between 5 and 12 and tie together with a rubber band covering that with a large satin ribbon to match the color theme. They are also long lasting in a vase of water at the head table.

Many years ago I was a bridal consultant for a flower shop. The prices were over the top then and even more so now. If the couple is interested, explore non traditional options. Dried flowers, paper flowers, satin flowers can all be just as beautiful.
Dollar tree, silverware, plates, table cloths, decorations!!
Do you have a color scheme
Free wildflowers as fillers, main flowers or with silk flowers look good. A friend paid a florist an arm and a leg for her flowers, and 3/4 of the arrangements were Queen Anne's Lace!
Costco sells lovely mixed bouquets. Mix or separate them anyway you want and add a wide satin ribbon!
Peonies are big and beautiful, and make an impact.

Something sentimental - hankie from a grandparent with lace showing. A pearl broche .
My daughter was in a wedding where the bride and bridesmaids made paper flowers our of old books and colored paper, then made all the bouquets out of the flowers. Saved a lot of money, and it looked great.
We purchased baby's breath in bulk from Costco and then make our own bouquets and wrapped the bottoms in burlap. It was very inexpensive when compared for a florist.
