The leaves look almost like a black elderberry, but I'm not sure.
Hi Deborah,
It also looks like Elderberry to me, but since it's a picture, my suggestion would be to take a sample to your local Cooperative Extension service. Thank you for using your city & state. That makes it possible to look up the address for you. The closest one is at the Colorado State University. Wishing you the best.

If you can't figure out what it is, take a branch with leaves and berries to your local plant nursery. They can identify it for you. I'd say it's some sort of wild cherry, but I really am not sure.
I have an app on my phone that's been very useful in plant identification. It's called PictureThis- Plant Identification. You can snap a pic of the plant and voila it gives you options to look at!
Definitely Elderberry! Lucky YOU! Lots of uses for Elderberries....even Wine!
I would not go with the Elderberry answer at all, because I know this plant very well and what you have in the picture doesn't look like one. I fear that the plant you are asking about might be poisonous, but I'm not sure. It looks like one with red berries that I know we cannot eat. But you'd better get a branch with leaves and fruits and find a specialist to ask about this. Hope it helps.
