There are hangers with a hook on top, and spaces to put other hangers on it.its a vertical system.

Check if there is any other way you can store them. For example, fold as many as you can and place them into drawers, following an organizing pattern called KonMari: https://goop.com/style/decorating-design/the-illustrated-guide-to-the-kondo-mari-method/. It will help you save a lot of space that can be used for hanging those clothes that cannot be folded.
Have you thought of double rods? Shirts are only 36" long and if you hang jeans or slacks folded double over a wooden or padded hanger, you won't be able to see the fold. Perhaps your caveman is tall enough to reach the higher rod? You could also use a single step stool to add some height.
Use aluminum can tabs on the top hanger to attach a second hanger to them, go vertical.
