I have a couple of these in my home. One is multi colored and one is several shades of blue. I have used them as lampshades. Once you remove all of the wiring, there is a hole that slips right onto the lamp harp.
The lamps I have them on are very slim and basic (one silver, one bronze),
It is very beautiful, I would opt to use it in the house, taking it outside you will have endless cleaning to maintain it's beauty, what about your laundry room, a powder room or even above your bathtub? Surely keep it .
Putting it outside would be great fun! You would need to seal the top. Find a round plastic container top that will overlap the top, remove the "innards" (technical term) and chain, drill hole in top for chain and connections, spray paint bronze (top and bottom), glue top with construction to lamp. Let dry, then seal around edges with silicone caulk. Test for any water leaks and reassemble wiring harness. Done! And a great conversation piece in your outdoor living area.
If you don't mind using it indoors, or in a somewhat sheltered spot outside, you could use it as the top for a terrarium very easily. You just want to make sure it is out of the way of dogs or critters that could tip it over.
Hey I actually have one similar to the one you’re showing in the picture. I took out the electrical portion and placed a bottom that I glued tightlay so water would not leak I placed it on a base and gave to a friend wh uses it as a bird bath under her shade tree
I would not put these out side I think the color would fade. What about hanging one in your bedroom and maybe in the bathroom if the room isn't too small.
