Good Luck!!
You are not alone! Gardening can be as easy or complicated as you wish. Start small with purchased baby plants and easy to grow veggies in seed form. Also try herbs too. And grow what you like to eat!

Lettuce, onions, peppers, zucchini sell grow like weeds with little effort. Pick something and tend to it and give it a whirl. Also read up on vetgetables you would like to try to grow. Google has everything you will need to do your research.
Hi Leiann, Make sure your container has holes for drainage. Without drainage, the roots sit in water and rot. Be sure to put your plants in a spot where they will get sun 6 hrs or more. I water my garden every day. I recommend you do the same thing. In morning, if possible. Good luck.
Use soil purchased from big box or garden center that is for container vegetable gardening or for raised bed gardening, not the same as "potting soil" for flowers! Alternately, use a mixture of your ground soil and purchased compost, at 50/50 mix. Wouldn't hurt to add some compost to "raised bed" soil either. Compost helps feed your plants, retain moisture, and keeps soil from packing down too hard which makes it hard for roots to grow. Gardener Gal in PA
Holes in the bottom of the container, a bit of burlap, small stones, potting soil and the type of plants that tolerate the amount of sun available to you.
On the internet you can google” how much potting mix for a tomatoe plant?” That would be 5 gallons. You can google just about any veggie that way.
I typed a big answer to your question and it ended up under "How to get rid of rust in the bath top". So if interested check it out. Sorry for Hometalk's glitch.
