Bug spray doesn't work.
Dilute sudsy ammonia. Very low cost and hygienic. Breaks down in the environment so may be considered "green." Theoretically not good for a septic system or a camper grey tank; but therein used in low amounts it's probably negligible.

Simple Green a non toxic cleaner sprayed in the drain will kill them. When we first used it I sprayed EVERY drain in the house for a week, then once a week for maintenance after to keep them gone. Simple Green can be found in the boat/auto/camping area of Walmart or in cleaning supplies in Menards and other home improvement stores.
vinegar and baking soda... also dry yeast and hot water
I used bleach & water solution once and that took care of the problem.
1 cup of bleach you let sit for 30 minutes then flush. If it is a basement drain make sure there is always water in the trap. this is where they hatch. the water dries up and it is a home for them. Add a half bucket of water to the drain every month.
Thanks!
