How do I decorate a room with a very high ceiling?
My living room has a ceiling with an ascending slope that reaches 14 feet. The extra space on the walls is always conspicuously empty.

Not every inch of wall space needs to be covered with art. If you have some super extra large pieces, by all means, use them! But if you have bare spots, it is perfectly ok too. Decorate for what makes you happy, it is your house.

You could also add a piece of wood lower on the wall with the 14 foot sloped ceiling and paint above that to match the ceiling color. That will visually lower the ceiling.
You can add a beautiful Wall Decal... I bought one similar to the one in this picture for my mother's house, as she has a Great Room in which the walls are 16 feet high. This filled the space and she is able to add family pictures as the family grows.

Wall Decal from Etsy
Thanks for the idea, Dana. I will look on this sight, and think I will be using this to fill some of the void!
I also have similar ceilings. I added a shelf that runs the length of the wall about 3 feet from the ceiling. I sat some decorative pieces as well as some small lights so if I dont want to turn on my lamps on my end tables I can utilize these. It helps draw the eye up which makes things more visually attractive.
I like your idea, Janet. Thanks!
