How is recess light done?
Hi my name is Jason and I recently bought a house back in October and I have had to redo everything. One thing I have been noticing is little things that I'm not able to do like the banisters and railing and another project is recess light to make my bat cave into my dream house. Any ideas?

If you are not comfortable working with electricity, and don't be shy or foolish, there are consequences, many people are not or are afraid, hire out to a licensed professional. Last thing you want to do is burn your new house down.
Shop carefully, and I highly suggest LED lighting.
It is complicated. First you have to figure out where you want them and cut holes in the ceiling. You will need to run wiring to the different locations. Put up the socket fixtures and attach the wiring. You will need to run the wiring through a switch to control the lights. This will have to be run from the service panel, and an electrical box installed, requiring another hole in the drywall. The electrical work will have to be inspected because you will pull a permit before work begins.
While you're doing this (or having it done) consider led lighting - very efficient, very very long lasting
sometimes some projects are best left to those that work in that trade. I love to do a lot of the work myself, but when it comes to cutting a ceiling and running wire, well I take f few minutes and call 3 different tradesmen for a quote. I know you can probably do this, but isn't it good to have some idea of the real costs with a professional? best of luck with this project!
Your electrical knowledge base, first and foremost is important!!!! CAN lights are run in a series. if you do not feel comfortable or your knowledge base is limited find someone with the experience to do this for you. X......X......X......X......X.......X.......................//,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
X=can light. //=switch & ,,,,,,,= source wire to panel or power.
.....wire between lights. This is a simple visual break down .
You will have to punch holes in your ceiling to run wires between the holes. You will have to locate joists in ceiling that can interfere with placement of cans or boxes and wires. You have to have a plan and know joist locations when planning. the biggest challenge is running the source wire to the switch and the switch wire to the panel.... cutting into your walls to do this. then patching. It can be done! The easiest can lights to install are LED They are flat - look like can lights BUT actually mount to a round electrical box use for regular light fixtures.
