Start by putting all toys and stuffed animals into bins or in closets so the room looks neater, which looks more grown-up. Then select one or two main colors for a more grown up look (instead of lots of colors, which looks juvenile). Pick a theme and stick with it throughout (favorite team, favorite tv show or movie, favorite sport/athletes, etc.). Use adult furniture, like a desk and chair and easy chair instead of miniature kid-sized and don't clutter the room. The more streamlined the room is, the less child-like it looks. More stylish also looks more grown-up.

Lots of nice ideas but do remember he’s 6!
Dont rush him to grow up, that will happen soon enough.
😍
Hi Sheryle,
Theme the room around your sons interests. Plain walls and Pictures - Curtains, Rug Bedding - Lamp etc. Or really go for it with Wallpaper and Paint or a Mural etc......Ask him what he likes and you'll be on to a winner........
Sheryle....You have gotten some great suggestions! I would like to add one thing. Talk with your son and tell him what you are about to do and see if he can add any thoughts. He is growing up and may want some input....not that you would be leaving him out but it will be a great project for the two of you! Enjoy!
