DIY Gold Lampshade Makeover
How to take a boring white lampshade and turn it into something special with just some paper and ribbon! This project is so easy and adorable. If you love this project, you can find more DIY projects for the home on my blog, Love & Renovations.
Start by getting gold (or whatever color you'd like) scrapbook paper and using a circle hole punch to create small circles. I used a 3.5" hole punch and was able to get 9 circles from each sheet of paper. For my lampshade, I needed 12 sheets of paper.
Once you've cut your circles, begin attaching them to the lampshade using craft glue (you'll want to be using high-quality, thick scrapbook paper, or else the glue will show through!). Overlap them slightly on all sides to create a fish scale look.
Once the lampshade is completely covered, cut off the excess paper at the top of the shade, then use craft glue to attach a piece of ribbon to the top (to hide the raw edges of paper).
You can attach more ribbon on the bottom or leave the scalloped edges. Attach the lampshade to your lamp base, and enjoy! You can see more details on this project, along with info on the exact products I used, on the full blog post.
