How do I make a cover for a small side entrance porch light?
Something that will withstand all 4 season changes. But not easily breakable. Single sandard bulb fixture. Attractive but not lavish.

Hi, Maybe use a Glass jar and make a hole in the lid?
Plexiglass or glass in frame. Cast aluminum will better withstand weather changes. Punched tin, if in a protected area, or cone shaped metal, etc. You need to know projection limitations, if any. Make a frame that provides easy access to changing lightbulb, but that also provides adequate space for light spread onto porch area.
There's different size/style mason jars that would make really cute and easy light covers! You could paint it and if you want a rustic look you could distress after painting
How about building a wood box frame with three sides that could be stained and fastened to the house.

Hi Dbd. You could cut a galvanized bucket in half and secure to frame with small screws. I saw this done recently and thought what a cute idea.
