How do I revive perrennials that are dried up?
I bought and planted a whole lot of perrennials in front of my lattice, with a good bit of "miracle grow", and they all are drying up. Even the hostas look lifeless. Should I just toss them and get more? Is there a better method?

I've heard it might be tricky. Is it true? What is the best way to that? It's this year's plant. No flowers yet.
Hi Felicia! Do not toss them all unless you are absolutely sure that they are dead. Perennials come up from ground after a cold Winter, so unless you are sure that they are beyond any life, don't give up on them. it sounds like they may have had too much sun and heat and not enough water. Many perennials will need a year to get established. However, if your perennials are in too much sun, you may have to find a different place to plant them. Perennial gardens are wonderful additions to your yard, so don't give up!
Trim them, add miracle grow with water remove all the dead leaves around and off …. they will come to life.
Hi Felicia, when you noted that you added a ‘good bit of Miracle Grow’ I’m wondering if you overfertilized the plants and inadvertently killed them. You may want to start over and carefully follow the Miracle Grow directions as to how much to use and how often.
I agree, sounds like too much fertilizer and not enough water. Do not get rid of anything that still has life in it. Make sure they are planted in the light each plant needs. Hostas will burn if they get too much sun as will many perennials.
Yes, trim back and water/fertilize. Hostas may be getting too much sun
Hi Felicia,
I had some perennials do the same thing last year! I simply allowed the leaves that fell in fall stay on them through winter and they came back this year healthy! Definitely don’t give up! Maybe cut back on the Miracle Grow and just go with plain water! Good luck!
