How do I get rid of fleas from my house and cat?

Shake the baking soda heavily over the carpet, floor, furniture - whatever and wherever you suspect they're hiding. If you can bathe your cat in plain water, then try adding baking soda to the water and the fleas should -- flee. Just remember to rinse well because the baking soda is drying and your cat will want to groom and doesn't need the extra salt. After 12 hours, vacuum all the baking soda up and toss it. If you have a really bad infestation, you may need to repeat the process in 12 to 14 days to break the cycle.

Everything, and I mean everything needs to be washed, vacuumed and treated! Including your cat. If you can't wash your cat, take to the vet. I am not a chemical person, Dawn dish soap will kill fleas and so will vinegar. Empty your vacuum cleaner after every session.

Or just call flea busters and pay a boatload of money. You will still have to wash everything and they use chemicals.

i'm with naomie on this one, it's going to take a few repeated treatments. keep a flea collar on your ankles. the baking soda didn't work for me. I wound up with flea and tick powder put down on the carpet, left it over night, put hot water in the carpet cleaner and cleaned it up.

repeat the next day.
