How do I redo a perfectly good 4 bulb light fixture in the bathroom?

You can paint and buy new covers then add Edison buibs from Lowe's or some similar

I just refinished a light fixture almost exactly ike yours and I love it. I redid my bathroom in barnwood and the brushed nickel items didn't work right at all. So I got 2 cans of spray paint at Lowe's, one copper and one can of Rustoleum Oily Antique Bronze. Spray the fixture with copper first, after sanding if needed. Spray again, let that dry. Then spray with the rustoleum. VERY quickly after spraying wipe off the edges with a piece of cardboard or paper towel, so the copper shines through. I did my light fixture, toilet paper holder, light switch covers and bathtub pieces all to match. That rustoleum almost dries on contact so do small areas at a time when wiping off the paint. Photos enclosed. Use LED lightbulbs.

It is easy to restore the finish on the metal of a fixture with Rustoleum Spray Paint for Metal. It comes in many different metal finishes as well as colors. Turn off the power to the fixture, then remove the bulbs and glass covers. There should be one or more screws on the face of the metal faceplate which hold the fixture on. Unscrew those and the fixture will come loose from the wall.The wires will still be attached to the wires behind the fixture. Making sure the power is turned off, remove the colored wire nuts and untwist the wires where they are connected to the power wires. Make a note of which wires are which (should be red to red,black to black and white to white). Now use a piece of 0000 steel wool to remove the old finish and slightly rough up the surface. Wipe down the surface with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Then you can do 2 or three light coats of Rustoleum spray paint (letting each one dry time between coats). You can apply a finish coat then. Re-attach everything in reverse order and then you are done. Best wishes.

Spray paint is your best friend! My personal favorite is Rustolium oil rubbed bronze. Take fixture down, clean with TSP, then use one coat of automotive primer, followed by a coat of oil rubbed bronze. You can either replace the shades or update them with one of the many frosted glass spray paint colors.

No one has addressed another potential problem: the fact that the metal has tarnished could mean that you have too much moisture in the bathroom. You likely need a new fan to extract the moist air. Also, I would turn it over if you have the space. The bulbs facing up as opposed to down.

If there is a moisture problem in the bathroom, as suggested by Birdz, the upturned shades would collect condensation. Not good near electrical things.

Spray painted black

Not really a redo, but I found this light cover a few years ago at Home Depot...if you can tell from the pics it fits right over the old fixture...it was on clearance for about $12, but I don’t think it was more than about $25...might find something similar there or Amazon...?

Sand, sand, sand. Make sure to get all the sanding particles off with tac cloth or damp rag. Then repaint with a Rustoleum metal finish spray of your choice and get some new shades, and viola!
