Some people would love to have that wavy glass because it provides good privacy! But...I know we all don't like the same things! Is it possible to remove those glass panes by removing the trim around the panes of wavy glass or is it a double pane side unit in an exterior door?

Yes it is a exterior door and I thought doing that but I’m renovating this whole house and just want a easy fix I guess

How about painting the doors, I would choose white. You could also use glass paints to colour the glass. Look on Pinterest for ideas.

Could you get energy tax credits for replacing with insulated double pane sidelights? I want those with miniblinds in between the glas.

If you got clear frosted glass you could get privacy and more light.

If you could find a inexpensive glass replacement of just clear glass, you could add your own decorative way to obscure the glass. It could be a spray on frosting or film that has a pattern.

    Hi there,

I would use Clings every time, because if you get fed-up with them you just peel them off and put on new!

I like the glass just the way it is.......alot of privacy!! If they were plain panes,,,,,I would add stained glass decor. I say, leave well enough alone......these glass frames are gorgeous.

Aquarium glass use clear silicone to attach them to the glass

Paint the glass the color of the walls to help brighten up the door.

Thank you for this idea but my door is mid entry and it’s already dark in the hallway. The door will be painted white soon.

Since the door will soon be painted white, I would paint a design - such as a rose - on the glass. Just get a stencil of whatever flower is your favorite and use it to 'redesign' the window. It will change the whole look of the door!

This glass is on trend right now. I know it's a few years after you posed the question.

You could paint each rectangula glass piece a different color using lass paint....it would provide a "modern" vibe as the entry to your home. If yours

isn't a modern style, you could use glass paint to stencil a design on the glass.

Since this is an older post, it would be great if you'd share what you decided to do....a pic?

Cheap fix would be curtains to cover them up. That way when you wanted you could still open them to let some light in.

  • Cover them with sheers or lace panels.

You could use small tension rods and put in mini curtains.

You could add a shade or curtain of some sort. That way you can open them to let some natural light in.
