Hi Donna, oh, my! I'd start by creating a "sorting area". Label bags or boxes or even one wall labeled with "Trash", "Donate", "Consign",
"Give Away to Special People" and "Keep". If you're downsizing, you'll need to chose what's most necessary and important to you that will fit in your new place. Ask family and friends if they'd like anything from your donate or give away pile. Most of all try to keep an upbeat attitude....maybe set aside a couple of hours each day to just work on the process and tune into some of your favorite music while working. It can help a lot!
It may also help for you to draw out a floor plan of your new place and visualize what you now have will fit. Good luck with your move!
Donna, moving can be overwhelming. First pack everything you do not need for day to day living: all wall hangings, rugs, decorations, extra linens, blankets, bedding, shoes, everything you can live without for a month. Then go through all your storage areas and purge the extra appliances you do not use or have duplicates. Do the same with your dishes, only keep one or two sets you will need for yourself to eat or drink. As you pack things to keep, seal and mark the boxes for the room where they will go: bedroom 1, bedroom 2, den, kitchen, etc. Keep a box or large leaf garbage bag on hand to fill with things to give, sell , or throw away. Last of all you will pack what you have only kept for absolute last and mark it "unpack first" as it will be what you have been using for basic survival and will need first when you move in to the now home. It takes a lot of time to sort and clean, so I hope this helps.
Call Goodwill and have them come and pick it up.
Boxes (r containers) marker & trash can just in case u want 2 throw anything away, when I moved I gave my kids things I new they wanted less 4 me 2 move & they were so happy 2 get things that were my moms & my husband s Moms
One room at a time. Get 3 large tarps and lay them out. 1 (keep) 2 (trash) 3 (giveaway to family or friends or donate. Hope this helps.
I would sort everything into boxes that you are going to keep and bring with you to the next house. I would label each box with exactly what is inside so that when you go to unpack you know what is in each box and where it should go. I would also create piles of things to either discard or donate if you do not want to bring them to the new house! Perfect time to declutter and get rid of things you don't use so you don't have to unpack anything unnecessary :)
If you got money, hire movers. They box and label everything.
We had professional movers, I purchased different duct tape colors and color coded my boxes to each different room. It helped place bixes in the right place.
In this case responsibility is very important because you can lose some things or forget them
You can put everything in its place, give something to the needy, and take something with you. You can hire people to clean your home. You can contact a moving company, and they will come and do your job. I don't know where exactly you are moving, but in Belgium, there is https://loparemovals.com/is-switzerland-a-good-place-to-live/. This company can even pack your kitchen set itself. If you want your apartment to be in perfect condition, you better go to the professionals. I had the experience of moving an old sofa myself. I wish I had just burned it.
