Refinish my kitchen cabinets without alot of cleaning first??
My kitchen cabinets have tons of grime on them. It would take forever to clean them in order to use a traditional painting method. Any ideas?

Paint will not stick until cabinets are squeaky clean regardless of what paint method you choose. TSP will do the work for you. Wear gloves and a mask or eye protection if you are sensitive.
The prep work is key! Well work the time and elbow grease. Painting cupboards is not the easiest project so if they are not prepped correctly you will be doing them again sooner than later. Take the time to do it right!
They need to be cleaned before doing anything else. Use Krud Cutter or Murphy's Oil Soap. TSP, trisodium phosphate for really grimy cabinets.
I totally agree with Naomie, without good prep your paint will not stick. Another method is to use Dawn dish detergent and a scrub brush as well as magic eraser sponges. The time you spend on prep will be totally worth it when you are done.

Sorry but paint doesn't stick to grease and grime. Cleaning with the right product is the key, use a sudsing ammonia or degreaser to make quick work of it using a large car sponge, round plastic scrubbies for the tough bits, wearing rubber kitchen gloves.
I get the Dollar Tree Awesome Orange in the half gallon to clean the cabinets in hot water, and the Awesome Degreaser for the tough bits.
You could sand them off, but your gonna need a lot of sandpaper as it fills up with grease.
When we bought our house it had been occupied by parents who drank and a lot of kids for 17 years. It was in sorry shape. I remember my husband cleaning those kitchen cupboards with every thing but the kitchen sink. We are still using them almost 50 years later. Everyone is right you must have them squeaky clean to start with.
